Serena Williams's Wedding Gown

Tennis star Serena Williams spent a total of around 3.5 million dollars to complete her wedding look making it the costliest celebrity wedding dress of all time. The celebrity wore a dramatic white strapless ballgown, with a huge skirt, which was covered with a hand-beaded, sheer cape. It was custom-made by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen and it took around 1500 hours to complete. 

Kate Middleton's Wedding Dress

The Duchess of Cambridge's wedding to Prince William was arguably the world’s most famous wedding. Kate wore a wedding gown hand-embroidered by Sarah Burton, from Alexander McQueen. Her dress was estimated to cost around $434,000, covered in handmade lace and scattered with embroidered thistles, shamrocks, daffodils, and roses to echo the four nations in the UK with a 2.7-meter train. 

Kate chose the British design house “for the beauty of its craftsmanship and its respect for traditional workmanship”. The seamstresses working on the gown had to wash their hands every 30 minutes to ensure the cloth was clean. They even replaced the needles every three hours to ensure they were sharp and precise. 

Meghan Markle's Wedding Dress

The Duchess of Sussex’s wedding to Prince Harry brought tears to my eyes. She was absolutely gorgeous wearing the gown made by Clare Waight Keller at Givenchy, which cost $265,000. Crafted in complete secrecy, her dress was made with silk with three-quarter sleeves and a boat neck.

Her veil was five meters and hand embroidered with flowers to represent the countries around the commonwealth, wintersweet, and the California poppy. At three meters wide, the veil also featured wheat sheafs, a symbol of prosperity that took more than 500 hours to stitch, even more than the dress itself! 

Victoria Swarovski's Wedding Dress

Victoria, a singer, and judge on Germany’s Got Talent made her entrance in a show-stopping custom-made gown worth more than $1 million. The dress was designed by Michael Cinco and featured 500,000 crystals, each hand applied with an eight-meter train. Just by the number of crystals, the entire look weighed more than 45 kilos. The entire look was completed by a 26-foot-long, lace-edged veil to complete her princess look. 

Kim Kardashian's Wedding Dress

The Givenchy dress designed by Riccardo Tisci for Kim Kardashian’s wedding with Kanye West cost approximately $500,000. The white lace gown with a sheer back, part of a dramatic dress from Balenciaga's fall 2021 Haute Couture collection, hugged her body beautifully.

A pearl-studded belt cinched the bride’s waist and the entire look was covered by a floor-length veil. The bride wore her hair down and straight with a slight partition in the middle. The soft natural style let the bride’s natural beauty shine through which made her shine even further.
